The PSW654-8K is a 9,000 lb 12V worm gear winch with the compact 8 in drum — built for continuous-duty pulling where mounting space is tight. The worm gear is mechanically self-locking by design: once you stop pulling, the load stays exactly where you stopped it. 470:1 ratio, 14 fpm line speed, 1.5 HP DC motor.

Why pick the 8 in drum over the 11 in?

Two reasons. The 8 in drum has a smaller footprint — useful when you're mounting in a tight frame or simply want to save space on the install. Trade-off: the 8 in holds 100 ft of ⅜ in rope versus 125 ft for the 11 in version.
