The PS9000 is the line-speed leader of the Pierce 12V planetary recovery family — 24 fpm at the rope, the fastest of any winch in the line. 9,000 lb pulling capacity from a 5.5 HP motor with a 360-amp peak draw, ⅜ in × 94 ft of wire rope on the drum. Why is the PS9000 faster than the PS6000 and PS12000?

Same 5.5 HP motor across all three, but the PS9000's 265:1 gear ratio sits in a sweet spot — enough mechanical advantage to handle 9,000 lb pulls, but not so deep that it slows the rope. The PS6000's lower capacity uses a 218:1 ratio, but a smaller motor design that doesn't translate to more speed. The PS12000 uses the same 265:1 ratio but the heavier load drops effective line speed.

    Bought this on sale to mount on my cj-5. She’s a heavy b%!#…but it feels like quality weight! Looks right at home on it and oughta last a long time! I did remove part of one sticker because it was obliterated by the hook in shipping…although the important bits are still there
