The PSHV18000 is the top of the Pierce HV hydraulic recovery line — 18,000 lb pulling capacity from a 9.5 in³ motor at 2,175 PSI. Same motor displacement as the heavier-duty PSHDH 20K, but with the simpler rotating ring-gear clutch and die-cast housings of the HV series. 23 fpm line speed.
How is the PSHV18000 different from the PSHDH20000?
Same 9.5 in³ hydraulic motor, but the PSHV18000 uses a rotating ring-gear clutch (free-spool by lever, no air supply needed) where the PSHDH 20K uses an output-shaft disengaged clutch (manual or air-spool variants). The PSHV is the lighter-duty, simpler, more compact answer; the PSHDH is the heavier-duty, more configurable answer for wrecker bodies and service rigs.
