The Replacement Locking Pin is the pin that secures the forged tine in the bale spear collar. Pierce-spec hardened steel — don't substitute a generic clevis pin under load. If yours is bent, missing, or showing wear, replace it before the next bale.
Why use the Pierce pin instead of a generic clevis pin?
The Pierce pin is hardened to handle the shock load of a bale dropping onto the tine and the steady cyclic load of repeated lifts. A generic mild-steel clevis pin will bend or shear under those loads, and a sheared pin in the field means a loaded tine on the ground.
- Direct fit for the Gooseneck (ABS1K) and Bolt-in (ABS2K) bale spear collars
- Hardened steel — sized for repeated load cycling
- $6 each — cheap insurance against tine loss in the field
- Inspect every season; replace at the first sign of bending or wear
For the collar the pin secures, see the Bale Spear Collar. For the tine, see the Forged Bale Spear Tine.
