The PS20000 is the maximum 12V planetary recovery winch in the Pierce line — 20,000 lb pulling capacity from a 6.8 HP motor (the only motor in the family above 5.5 HP), peak 520-amp draw, and ½ in × 72 ft of heavier wire rope. Built for heavy vehicle recovery, oversized equipment trailers, and any 12V job where 12K runs short.
The 520-amp peak draw is more than a stock automotive electrical system can sustain under load. At minimum: a 100-amp+ alternator, dual deep-cycle batteries (or a single high-CCA AGM), 2-gauge wire on the run from battery to winch, and a properly fused power feed. Have a certified installer verify the electrical capacity before mounting the winch — undersizing the system causes voltage sag, slow line speed, and contactor damage on every pull.
For lower amp draw at smaller capacity, see the 12,000 lb 12V Planetary Recovery Winch. For the receiver-hitch mount that fits this winch, see the Receiver Hitch Winch Mount. For hydraulic-driven recovery at this capacity tier (no electrical-system upgrades needed), see the 20,000 lb Hydraulic Recovery Winch (Long Drum, Manual).
⚠️ Never use a winch for lifting or moving people. Pulling and recovery use only.
WARNING
This Winch is not intended or designed to transport people. Do not use winch to hold a load during transportation

I’ve owned 3 of these winches and believe they have been as advertised. I once had my ford f-250 crew cab long bed truck stuck in a washed out bridge culvert at a 30deg. Angle. This winch actually bent the frame of the truck with its power, but that’s what was required to get me out. I was miles from nearest highway. Every truck I have has one.
this is an impressive and stoutly built winch!
Pulled my skid steer out and it weighs 18,000 pounds with no issue. Love the remote control because I have to be in the skid steer when I am by my self.
THE REMOTE CORE HAS TO BE WIGGLE TO WORK WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO. LET ME KNOW KENNETH BELCHER
This winch is a beast,strongest,fastest,winch I ever owned 👍👍👍🤠
