The PSM6-3 is a replacement 12V motor for the PIERCE PS6000 planetary recovery winch — Style 1 with a slotted shaft. Three electrical posts, drop-in fit. Use this on older PS6000 winches that have the slotted-shaft motor; newer PS6000 winches use the splined PSM912SP.
How do I tell if my PS6000 needs Style 1 or Style 2?
Look at the motor shaft. Style 1 (PSM6-3) has a slotted shaft — a flat groove or notch cut into the shaft for a key. Style 2 (PSM912SP) has a splined shaft — multiple ridges around the shaft circumference. Style 2 also fits the PS9000 and PS12000; Style 1 is PS6000-only.
