The Gooseneck Truck Bed Bale Spear is a 2,500 lb hydraulic bale mover for your pickup — no tractor needed. It mounts on any 2-5/16 in gooseneck ball, runs off your truck battery, and lifts off in minutes when you need the bed back. A 20 ft magnetic remote lets you operate from the cab in any weather.

Why use a gooseneck bale spear instead of a tractor?

You can feed cattle from inside the truck — warm, dry, and one person — instead of climbing on and off a tractor. The mount drops over your existing gooseneck ball in minutes, so the same truck still hauls trailers, livestock, or anything else when feeding is done.

Hydraulic Truck Bale Spikes Options:

Both truck bale spikes come with a self-contained hydraulic pump that will connect to your vehicle's battery. The question is how you would like to mount your setup. If you would like to be able to remove your bale spike system completely, the gooseneck is the best option. However, if you want to leave the system mounted and still use your gooseneck ball, the bolt-in option may be best. Both allow you to remove the spears when not in use.

Our shop is located in Henrietta, Texas, United States, where we fabricate, weld, assemble, and service our bale spikes.
How long does the Hydraulic Bale Spear take to lift a bale typically?
With normal pressure and a standard bale you are looking at 15 to 20 seconds.
How long can I expect my PIERCE Hydraulic Bale Spear to last?
With proper maintenance, a 20-year life can reasonably be expected. We routinely see PIERCE bale spikes manufactured in the early 90s still working on ranches locally.
What is the difference between the Gooseneck Bale Spear (ABS1K) and the Bolt-in Bale Spear (ABS2K)?
The ABS1K hay spear installs directly over a gooseneck ball; in comparison, the ABS2K bolts into the truck bed so you can haul trailers while the spear is mounted. Both units come equipped with removable bale spears.
What is the weight limit of Pierce Hydarulic Hay Bale Spears?
PIERCE bale spears have a lifting capacity of 2,500 lbs. NOTE: Picking up bales wider than the rear opening of your truck bed may result in truck damage. Also, Lifting anything other than hay bales will void the warranty and most likely damage your system.

  • Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic parts are guaranteed to be free of manufacturer defects.
  • Parts will be replaced at the manufacturer's discretion.
  • The Warranty period is taken from the date the goods leave our factory, although we will accept a later date if the Distributor can confirm date of purchase.
Conditions
  • Does not include normal wear and tear, misuse, water damage or other forms of abuse.
  • Electrical components must have proper wiring verified and be protected by appropriate fuses, breakers, and power disconnects to qualify for any warranty coverage.
  • This warranty only covers the original products sold by PIERCE. Labor, down time, loss of work and other expenses are not included in this warranty.
  • You must contact us first to receive a return merchandise authorization number and instructions to return and receive warranty.
  • All return shipping logistics and costs are non-refundable and the responsibility of the buyer. 
  • Call us to explain the problem, making sure you have both the model number and the serial number on hand. Often, we can resolve the matter over the phone.

    Hay Bale Spike Works Great!!!

    I am 78 and this week the temperature has been below 0 and I was sick, but the cows had to be hayed. Instead of doing it on a slow, open tractor I was able to do it quickly in a warm truck. I should have gotten the hay spike years ago. Well worth the price.

    The only thing that I could think to make that any better is to make a plug in for the remote so it doesn't have to be in the weather all the time. I just added a 4 pin connector and plug to it for that reason.

    Very easy to hook up and works great. It has plenty of power. I hooked mine up to my aux in my truck so I bought a 200 amp solenoid to install. If yall offered that in the package would be nice.
