The PCOOL-PLUG is the threaded drain plug for PIERCE roto-molded coolers — it seals the drain port and backs out to empty melt water without tipping the cooler.
When does it need replacing?
When the plug is lost or the seal no longer holds and the drain weeps. Thread the new plug into the drain port.

Great product
The Pierce 45 Qt Cooler is the best one I ha e ever owned. I have had mine for 4 years, it basically spends from May to October every year on the back of a flatbed truck. It has taken a lot of abuse from rough roads, t posts, and barbed wire. All I have ever had to do is to change out the rubber latches every year and they are cheap and can be replaced in less than 5 minutes.
