The PCOOL-BH-45 is the lid hinge pin for the PIERCE 45 Qt roto-molded cooler — it holds the lid to the body so it swings true and seats square on the gasket.
When does it need replacing?
If the lid has come loose, sits crooked, or the old pin is lost or bent. Slide the new pin through the hinge and the lid is back on.

Great product
The Pierce 45 Qt Cooler is the best one I ha e ever owned. I have had mine for 4 years, it basically spends from May to October every year on the back of a flatbed truck. It has taken a lot of abuse from rough roads, t posts, and barbed wire. All I have ever had to do is to change out the rubber latches every year and they are cheap and can be replaced in less than 5 minutes.
