The Pierce magnetic mount spotlight gives you a 24 hour workday. If you just purchased a magnetic work light or you're considering a Pierce vehicle spotlight this article is for you. You may be wondering where to mount your magnetic spotlight or whether it's waterproof. Here we answer frequently asked questions about the Pierce Wireless Remote Spotlight.

Spotlight FAQ:

Q. How do I mount the vehicle spotlight? A. The spotlight can either be hard mounted with screws or can be temporarily mounted using the magnetic mount.

Q. Where can I mount the spotlight? A. Typically the spotlight is mounted in the center of the roof of the vehicle.

Q. Can I use this on my ATV or UTV? A. Yes but you will need to make sure you are running the UTV and that your battery is in good condition.

Q:  Does the engine have to be running when using the spotlight? A. For optimum performance yes.  Not running the engine may cause the battery voltage to fall and either dim or slow down the movement of the spotlight.

Q. How bright is the spotlight? A. We offer both LED and HID spotlights. The LED spotlight is brighter and can be seen further than the HID light.

Q. What distance will the light illuminate? The HID spotlights illuminate .6 to 1.8 miles depending on conditions such as weather, moonlight, etc.

Q. Is the spotlight waterproof? A. The spotlight has been given an international protection rating of IP66 the first number represents solids and the second number represents liquids. The international protection rating for solids ranges from 1-6 and the liquid range is 1-8 with the lowest number representing the least protection and the highest the digit the most protection. The IP66 rating means the spotlight is protected from total dust ingress and from high pressure water jets from any direction.

Q. What power source does the spotlight require? A. The spotlight requires a minimum of 12 volts.

Q. What do I do if my light won't turn on? A. Check the battery charge. The LED and HID must be connected to a minimum of 12 volts.

Q. Does the level of battery charge affect the spotlight performance? A. Running the spotlight with a low battery (lower than 12 volts) may keep the spotlight from turning on.

Q. How many hours will the spotlight last? A. The spotlights have a life of 3,000 hours.

Q. What is the rotation and tilt of the truck spotlight? A. The spotlight rotates a full 360° and tiltis 120°.

Q. What is the warranty on the spotlight? A. Pierce offers a one year warranty on the spotlight with proof of purchase.

Q. What type of plug does the spotlight use? A. Cigarette Lighter plug with 12' cord FCC Approved Wireless up to 200 + ft.

Q. How much does the spotlight weigh? A. The Pierce spotlight weighs 5.5 pounds.

Q. What are the color options for the spotlight? A. The spotlight comes in white and black.

Q. What are the spotlight dimensions? A. The dimensions of the Pierce spotlight are: 9" x 8.6" x 7.5"

Q. What type of bulb is in the HID spotlight? A. HID Xenon.  (High Intensity Discharge bulb with Pressurized Xenon Gas)
